Becky Blalock is a Partner with Advisory Capital where she provides strategic consulting and is a board member of companies involved in energy, information technology and medicine. She is the author of an upcoming book entitled “Dare – Lessons in Confidence, Courage and Career for Women in Charge”. Blalock formerly served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Information officer of Southern Company for 9 years. In this role she directed IT strategy and operations across the 120,000 square miles and nine subsidiaries of Southern Company. She led more than 1,100 employees in information technology delivery to one of America’s most respected companies. Under her leadership, Southern Company delivered over a billion dollars in new technology initiatives and was recognized as one of the 100 Most Innovative Companies by CIO Magazine and one of the 100 Best Places to Work in IT by Computerworld Magazine. She is nationally and regionally recognized as an expert in corporate information technology. Blalock began her career at Georgia Power in 1978 and spent 33 years within the Southern Company system. In addition to her work in information technology she provided broad leadership in many positions including accounting, finance, marketing, corporate communication, external affairs, the office of the CEO, and customer service. Blalock serves on the boards of Computers for Youth, Emory Healthcare, the Georgia Health Sciences University, CSI Laboratories, Verdecco and the business School of Mercer University. A graduate of Leadership Atlanta and Leadership Georgia, she was named a Fellow of the International Women’s Forum Leadership Foundation in 2001. Blalock has received a host of honors including 2011 Legacy award from the Women in Technology and Honorary Lifetime Achievement award from the Georgia CIO Leadership Association. In 2009 she was named CIO of the Year in the electric utility industry by Energy Biz Magazine. She is listed among the Who's Who in Science and Engineering and has been named one of Computerworld Magazine’s Premier IT Leaders. She is an advocate for women and children and has been recognized as Power Woman by Atlanta Woman Magazine and the Shining Star Award recipient from the Atlanta Women’s Foundation. In 2005, she was inducted into the Atlanta YWCA Academy of Women Achievers. Blalock successfully completed the Program for Management Development at Harvard University. She holds a master’s degree with honors in finance from Mercer University and an undergraduate degree in business administration from State University of West Georgia. Joan Herbig has more than 20 years experience in the high-tech industry. She has held many roles throughout her career and has built companies that have been recognized for supplying high quality products and services, delivering outstanding customer support and driving high growth. By surrounding herself with experienced, trusted executives, Joan has led previous companies to successful outcomes. Named CEO of ControlScan in late 2007, Joan is responsible for business operations and is focused on growing the company's revenues and expanding its position as a leading PCI compliance and security provider focused on serving the needs of small to mid-sized merchants on behalf of ControlScan’s customers (acquirers). Since her hiring by ControlScan’s original institutional investor, TTV Capital, Joan has built a team of technology and payment card industry veterans. She led the company’s transition to a top provider of full-service PCI programs with a reputation for providing outstanding merchant experiences as a result of its small merchant expertise. Prior to joining ControlScan, Joan was CEO of Cambia Security, Inc., a leader in providing configuration management tools for compliance with PCI, GLBA, HIPAA, SOX and other regulatory standards, until its acquisition by nCircle Security in April 2007. Prior to Cambia, Joan also served as CEO of XcelleNet, Inc., an industry leader in mobile device systems management, which was acquired by Sybase in May 2004. Prior to that, Joan held several positions at Digital Communications Associates (DCA) from 1987-1995, including Senior Product Line Manager responsible for marketing and product management. As a long-standing contributor to the Georgia technology community, Joan currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), and served as its Chairman in 2008. She also chairs the Entrepreneurial Taskforce at TAG and led the 2011 TAG/GRE Business Launch Plan Competition. In 2001, Joan was named as the Woman of the Year in Technology by Women in Technology. Joan served a two-year term on the ETA’s Risk and Fraud committee, developing and teaching courses on PCI compliance at ETA conferences, and currently serves on the ETA Presidential Advisory Board. She has authored articles for recognized industry publications including Transaction Trends, The Green Sheet and Electronic Retailer. Joan earned a M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Kentucky following a B.A. in French from the University of Louisville. During her nearly 10 years in the Coca-Cola System, Bridget McCarthy has held several key operations, sales, and category roles of increasing responsibility. Bridget currently is the Vice President of Category Commercialization for Coca-Cola’s Water, Tea, Coffee, and Cross-Licensed brands. Prior to this role, Bridget was the Group Director of Channel Operations for Convenience Retail, Drug, and Value Channels, leading a team working as liaisons between the brand category teams and the National Retail and Region Sales teams. Prior to her channel and category roles, Bridget led several other key positions across Coca-Cola Enterprises: Category Director for water and emerging brands, working to develop the Company’s water strategy and launching new products such as ZICO Coconut Water. Another key role was as Director of Sales for Convenience Retail in Chicago and St Louis where she led a team managing key Convenience Retail Customers in the Midwest Business Unit. Bridget is currently the women’s linc President for The Coca-Cola Company. Leading a business resource group with over 1500 members that provides a community where women can lead, inspire, and connect with one another. Bridget attended The Pennsylvania State University earning an undergraduate degree in Special Education. She is currently in the process of completing her MBA from Emory University in May 2012. Bridget is a passionate member of the Honorary Board of Directors for The Special Olympics of Georgia and is an avid volunteer with the Boys and Girls Club of Atlanta through The Women’s Giving Circle. An internist by training, Dr. Imtiaz entered public health in 1984 when she joined the CDC’s Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) and was posted at the New Jersey State Health Department. In the past 25 years she has worked on various public health programs at State, national and global levels and with several bilateral and multi lateral partners in the public and private sectors. Her specialized area of expertise is sustainable capacity building with a focus on workforce development. Rubina Imtiaz was born in Karachi and moved to the US in 1980. She received her MBBS degree in 1980 from Lahore and completed the Internal Medicine specialization in the US. She was the first Pakistani to be inducted into the Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) Fellowship at US CDC in 1984 and later served as a Senior Public Health Physician in the New Jersey State Health Department where she helped develop the initial policies on HIV/AIDS. In 1986 she was hired as the first Medical Epidemiologist for Global 2000 Inc., Carter Presidential Center where she helped pioneer strategies, surveillance guidelines and operational plans for Guinea Worm Eradication and implemented the program successfully in Pakistan, Ghana and Nigeria- 1986 – 92. She later directed the Expanded Program for Immunization for UNICEF in Nepal, 1992 – 96, was a Sr. Health & Nutrition Consultant to the Agha Khan Foundation in Tajikstan-1995, and was a Sr. Medical Officer at the Agency for Toxic Substances & Disease Registry (ATSDR), Atlanta, (environmental epidemiology) 1996 – 2001. Imtiaz worked as a Branch Chief in the CDC’s Global Health Office overseeing Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Programs (FELTPs) in 26 countries in Asia, Central Asia, Middle East, and Central/South America. Following that she was appointed as the CDC Director to India from 2007-2009. On return to Atlanta she has been serving as the Associate Chief for Systems Strengthening at CDC GAP’s International Laboratory Branch. She has conducted several short term consultations for the World Bank, World Health Organization, Ministries of Health in China, India, Pakistan, Malaysia, Philippines, Japan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Egypt, Jordan, Nepal, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Brazil, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Saudi Arabia, Namibia, Indonesia, Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI), USAID, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Health Research Board of Ireland. She is visiting faculty at Emory University SPH, National Institute for Epidemiology Chennai, and the Institute for Public Health, Pakistan and a peer reviewer for several international conferences and public health journals. She is a member of several US Government and partners (e.g. WHO) technical committees, the Global Health Council, and non-profit organizations. She has several publications most of which focus on public health and surveillance. As a social media and personal branding strategist Diane has over 20 years of experience in coaching, recruiting, education and training. She was an early adopter of social networking tools and has co-authored several books on this subject, “Seven Days to Online Networking” (2008) and “Find a Job through Social Networking” (2010), which was recently vetted by top career site QuintCareers as one of the “Top 15 Indispensable Career and Job Search Books.” Diane shares her expertise at industry, corporate and academic events and is a frequent contributor to media on this topic. She’s excited to share her expertise, and passion for leveraging social media through her consulting company, Crompton & Associates Henna Inam is the CEO of Transformational Leadership Inc., a company focused on helping women realize their potential to be transformational leaders, creating great innovation, engagement, and growth in organizations. In her corporate career, Henna held several C-Suite roles such as Chief Marketing Officer and Region President. Her accomplishments at Novartis include running over $500MM P&L and running organizations as large as 600 people, including R&D and plant operations. At Procter & Gamble she helped drive multi-billion dollar global brands like Pampers and Charmin. Henna is committed to several non-profits. She is on the Board of Counselors for Carter Center, the Board of the Board of Directors Network (an organization advocating women for public company boards), and the Board of the International Women’s Forum of Georgia. Henna got her MBA from the Wharton School and participated in the Executive Education programs at the Harvard Business School. Mohammad Azam is currently the Vice President - Corporate Internal Audit, Compliance & Ethics at UPS. Before was the Global Financial Process Controller for UPS with responsibilities to manage Global General Ledger, Fixed assets, Accounts Payable, and Payroll Processes. Mohammad has over 25 years experience in Public Accounting, Internal Audit, M&A, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Corporate Accounting. Previous positions include -Vice President of Finance & Accounting for Mellon Bank’s leasing group. Mohammad has held senior finance positions with several large multi-national organizations, including Ford Motor Company, Dole Packaged Foods, and Sega Internet Games. Mohammad obtained his Public Accounting experience working for KPMG.
